Windows Phone 7 Smartphones Carriers And Countries

News has started trickling in on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 launch, with the company announcing 10 handsets for 30 countries around the world. Of these, nine will hit select European and Asian markets on October 21 and will be launched next month in the US. For Asian and European users, who usually have to wait to get their hands on newly-released handsets, the launch of these phone ahead of the US market is a welcome change. The phones will be made available to consumers through 60 wireless operators this year. HTC, Samsung, Dell and LG are the brands that have the first chances at the Windows Phone 7 Launch.

Windows Phone 7 Smartphones List

  • HTC 7 Surround — 3.8-inch T8788 with slideout speaker (AT&T and Telus)
  • HTC HD7 — Codenamed Schubert, this one comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen and packs 1GHz Qualcomm processor (T-Mobile and beyond)
  • HTC 7 Trophy — Flaunts a 3.8-inch display, headed internationally with Vodafone and M1
  • HTC 7 Mozart — With a 3.7-inch display this model will be available in Hong Kong with CSL, 3 and China Mobile later this month.
  • Dell Venue Pro — 4.1-inch portrait QWERTY slider for T-Mobile
  • Samsung Focus — AT&T’s 4-inch Super AMOLED slate we broke as Cetus
  • Samsung Omnia 7 — The i8700 comes with a 4-inch AMOLED screen, 1GHz processor to be available via Orange, T-Mobile and Three
  • LG Optimus 7 — The E900 flaunts a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, set for a global release
  • LG Quantum — A high-end 3.5-inch landscape slider coming to AT&T next month
  • HTC 7 Pro — a 3.6-inch QWERTY slider for Sprint (to be released next year)

Microsoft has tied up with HTC, Dell, Samsung and LG to deliver the Snapdragon-based handsets. The handsets will initially be available on networks of carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile USA, América Móvil, Telus, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, O2, Orange, SFR, SingTel, Movistar and Telstra.
